A Keplerian phantasy in five perfect solid. There are two significant moments in Kepler's life: at the age of six, his mother took him to watch the 1577 comet and at the age of nine his father took him to watch a lunar eclipse. These are the first contacts of the child Kepler with the heavenly world, a premonition of what his main passion in life would be: astronomy. The comet's event and the eclipse, followed by "Dream of a lunar astronomy" open and close this Keplerian phantasy, hommage to Johannes Kepler (Weil der Stadt,1571 - Regensburg, 1630). Libretto on texts by Kepler,Newton, Plato, Pythagoras, Jamblic, Estobeus, Copernic and Ptolemy. |
